Hococomic ("Decorating ideas for cozy, characterful homes") publishes decorating guides at cozy decorating ideas for small and mid-size homes. This page explains what data we collect when you visit the site, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It applies to every page served from this domain.
Who we are
Hococomic is an independently operated decorating blog edited by Adi Daeng. For any privacy question, or to ask for a copy or deletion of your data, write to [email protected]. We answer privacy requests within 30 days.
What we collect
- Usage data. Like almost every website, our server records the pages you request, the referring page, your approximate location (country/city level), browser and device type, and a truncated IP address. This is used for security, abuse prevention and aggregate traffic statistics.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use them to remember basic preferences and to measure which articles are read most.
- What you send us. If you email us or use a contact form, we receive your address and message. We keep reader mail only as long as needed to answer it.
- We do not ask for or store payment details, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Advertising and Google AdSense
This site is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense and may work with other third-party advertising networks.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and/or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie to serve ads to users based on their visit to this and other sites.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.com.
- Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), ads are served only after you give consent through a Google-certified consent management platform, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time from the consent link on the page.
Analytics and embedded content
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and understand which topics are useful. Articles can embed images or media hosted on other services; those providers may set their own cookies when the embedded content loads, under their own privacy policies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and request portability. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].
Data retention and security
Server logs are kept for a limited period (normally no more than 90 days) and then deleted or aggregated. We protect the site with HTTPS, restricted administrative access and regular software updates. No website can promise perfect security, but we do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it except with the service providers described above or where the law requires it.
External links
Our articles link to manufacturers, retailers and other resources. Once you follow an external link, that site's own privacy policy applies, not ours.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The date at the top of this page always shows the latest version. Substantial changes will be announced on the site.
